A Beautiful Setting
Carriage House Gardens is located in an authentic mid-19th century barn adjacent to the owner's home, built in 1790. Wiscasset Village, in mid-coast Maine, boasts a superb collection of 18th and 19th century homes, a waterfront on the Sheepscot River, high quality art galleries, unique shops, great antiquing, and varied places to eat - including the world renown Red's Eats.
Personalize your garden with one-of-a-kind ornaments, hand-made by local and New England artisans. The Carriage House Gardens collections include fanciful ceramic pieces: pedestals, birdbaths, and garden balls; glass sculptures made by assembling as-found glass objects; and rustic wooden benches, made of re-cycled wood. No two of anything in these collections are the same! Enjoy the hand of the creator and bring art to your gardens!
'Right plant, right place' is more than just a catchy phrase. Making strategic choices in the plants you use will result in more satisfying gardens and less maintenance. Visit Carriage House Gardens where the landscape features carefully selected trees, shrubs, and perennials chosen for their hardiness and ornamental qualities. Owner Lucia Droby, an award-winning landscape designer and long-time gardener, is delighted to talk plants with you!
